The hail gave our bodies and plants in the garden some trouble, but the paint seemed to hold up well. Anyway, with the way our house is situated we have 1 wall that took a direct hit from the nickel sized hail that rained down. Also, if you read my Morning Chat 6/20/22 – you will know that we had a pretty bad hailstorm this last weekend. I haven’t noticed any areas that seem to be barely covered. I will note that we have had it on the house about a week, but it seems to be good. The other thing I noticed was that it was a lot easier to clean up – it took about 1/2 the time. – I actually ended up using a lot less than I did 10 years ago when I used a different brand, and I actually had more to paint since we now have a 4-season porch. I did apply a thicker second coat with a roller for a little extra protection. I covered everything with a light coat and honestly, I probably could have left it. So, what is good about the paint? The first thing I noticed was the coverage. If you were painting inside, I would say to just make sure the room has good ventilation before you start. To combat it, I just opened the paint outside – in a well-ventilated area and didn’t linger over the bucket. It is a bit stinky – paint in general isn’t all that great smelling but I did notice a little extra umph in that area. I assume being chemical based is the reason for my only problem with the paint.

Behr paint Greyhound (grey) and Dragonfly (teal) What did I think? The e600 is acrylic, so it is chemical based. Regular Behr is enamel based, which means it is oil based. The only thing I could find different between the two were the type of paint. So, after some thought I figured what the heck. The problem was I couldn’t find many 3rd party reviews. I didn’t want to take it straight from the company, I wanted to know how Joe Blow from Anywhere liked the paint. Low-VOC (< 50 g/L excluding colorants), meets national VOC regulations. Excellent spray sheen uniformity, even finish. My problem came when I couldn’t find hardly any reviews of the product. Reliable performance and value for interior applications. Seventy bucks is nothing to scoff at, especially when you are on a budget! My problem… A 5 gallon bucket was $126 compared to a 5 gallon at $196. The price was much cheaper, which stopped me and made me take notice. So while I was looking and pricing I came upon Behr e600 paint. I have used them for years and I like it. So when the time came to start preparing for it I started researching, I knew I wanted to use Behr paint. The good thing is this year – even though I am just a busy – painting the house was at the top of the to-do list.

The problem was – last year we were busy moving a garden, prepping the duck house, putting up fences, not to mention my medical problems, working full time, homeschooling, and then finding out I was losing my job.

Maybe both! Anyway, sometimes you just need a change. BEHR PRO e600 Exterior Semi-Gloss Paint is specifically designed to meet the demanding expectations of professional painters. It happens – maybe the color has been on the house for so long and has lost its luster, or I just got tired of it. Last year I started noticing that our house was looking a little shabby.
